  3. Make Alfredo Sauce: In a skillet, melt butter or heat oil. Add garlic and sautΓ© until fragrant. Pour in cream and simmer 2–3 minutes. Add cheeses and stir until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Thin sauce with pasta water if needed.
